Green Computing POSTER

As most of you may know, there is a lot of interest in environmental responsibility these days. Additionally, there has been a growing area of discussion on the subject of "green computing." But what exactly is green computing? Mostly, it's the practice of using computing resources efficiently as well as reduced resource consumption and proper disposal of electronic waste.

One of the main things that we can do is to reduce the use of paper. Instead of writing letters, we can use paperless method of communication, such as e-mail, text messages, or make phone calls. And also it would be great, if people change from reading newspaper to watching the news from television or from the internet. This would reduce a large amount of paper usage. Another way might have to deal with the printed advertisements or catalogues. Now a day, most brands have their own websites. These companies can help the world by changing from printed ads to online advertisements and offer online catalogues for their products.

As paper usage decreases, delivery services also decreases. This means that there will be less air pollution since transportation becomes unnecessary to deliver information to people. The burning of gasoline decreases and this would be such a great advantage to the environment.

So now, you can see that information technology, or IT, would reduce the amount of pollution generated, which is the main cause global warming.

Presently, global warming is becoming more and more severe than anyone can imagine. It is reducing the amount of pack ice in the Arctic, which is the only home for the polar bears. Not only the Arctic that’s affected by global warming, but the whole world is affected. And since we, human beings, are the smartest creature living, let’s use our knowledge about technology and work together to save our home, EARTH.
